A few "TAKE - AWAYS" for those students of IGNOU, who happened to miss the IGNOU Induction Meeting organized on 20th October 2024 at Damodar College hall in Margao, South Goa.
- The stage was graced by Goa Regional Director Mr. Sreenivas and Dr. Fredrick Rodrigues.
- The meeting started at 3.15 pm, allowing 15 minutes grace time for late comers to settle down in their seats.
- The Damodar College hall was jam packed to its full seating capacity on the 5th floor of this institute.
- The age gradient of students attending the meeting was approximately from 25 years old to way up to 55 years old.
- Director Sreenivas informed that 557 emails were sent to IGNOU students informing them via 3 separate emails about this induction meet in sufficient advance.
- Approximately only 150 + registered students were present for the Induction meet.
- Around 400 + students of IGNOU were absent for the Induction meet.
- The meeting was professionally organized.
- Mango Tetra pack juice packets were provided to all students on entering the hall premises.
- Presentation was highlighted on a projected screen.
- Sir Sreenivas quote was to be remembered. "Be Scared to be Prepared".
- 10 years of data, Sreenivas said shows that 90% of the students who were absent for their valid reasons, will not clear their respective exams.
- Only 10% of the absent induction meeting students will clear their exams.
- Out of the 150 + students present for the Induction meeting, only 40 % of the students will pass and get their respective degrees. So said Sir Sreenivas from his tabulated data for the past decade.
- Passing in BA courses of IGNOU is more difficult and passing in an MA courses is much easier.
- The Induction Meeting lasted for around 2 hours approximately.
- Director Sreenivas gave an informative speech with an excellent command over the English language.
- Dr. Rodrigues explained about the Study group center situated at Damodar college.
- A team of 10 + Staff of Assistant Coordinators are available everyday from Monday to Friday 09.30 am till 05.30 pm for general consultation only for registered students of IGNOU.
- Sunday the Margao study center functions for half a day.

- Hand written assignments are to be submitted starting from 01st March 2025 till 31st March 2025. This is for ODL students.
- OL or Online Students, have to scan their written assignments and upload them to the official IGNOU website assignment location.
- Director Sreenivas encouraged the students to connect with similar students of the same course or program or degree.
- 3.6 Million students have registered for various courses in IGNOU Open University for the current year. This is 36 lacs, almost the size of some small countries population.
- IGNOU is the worlds largest Long distance education or Open University in the world.
- Director Sreenivas strongly warned to be aware and to avoid the fake websites and fake apps of many scrupulous agents who want to rob students of their money.
